1. Terminology

"Client", "you" and "your" refer to you, the person accessing the Service. "We", "us", "our" and "audiodownloader.com" refer to the operator of the Service. "Platform" refers to any third-party site we fetch content from (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, SoundCloud, X, Facebook, Reddit, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch, Bilibili).

2. What the Service does

audiodownloader.com is a free tool that lets you extract and download the audio track from public content hosted on supported Platforms, in your choice of MP3, M4A, Opus, WAV, FLAC, or the original bitrate. We also offer a transcription tool that turns audio or video into text.

The Service can be used in two ways:

  • The web downloader at audiodownloader.com (5 free downloads per day per IP).
  • One or more Chrome extensions for the Platforms we publish dedicated extensions for (no daily quota).

3. Acceptable use

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. By using the Service you agree that you will:

  • Only submit URLs of publicly available content you have a right to download.
  • Comply with the Terms of Service of the Platform you are fetching from.
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of creators, rights-holders, and licensors.
  • Not use the Service to infringe copyright, trademarks, or other rights.
  • Not use the Service to stalk, harass, or harm any person.
  • Not attempt to circumvent the daily quota by automated means, VPNs, or any other method designed to abuse the Service.
  • Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by applicable law.

4. What you may not do with downloaded files

Unless you have explicit permission from the rights-holder, you may not:

  • Re-upload downloaded audio to any Platform or third-party service.
  • Use downloaded audio for commercial purposes (advertising, sponsored content, paid products, etc.).
  • Distribute downloaded audio as part of a paid product, subscription, or bundle.
  • Claim authorship of audio you did not create.

Downloading audio for personal, offline listening is generally tolerated by the Platforms we support. Anything beyond personal use is your responsibility.

5. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, audiodownloader.com and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on the Service. All intellectual property rights are reserved. You may access content from the Service for your own personal use, subject to the restrictions in these Terms.

The audio you download is owned by its respective creator or rights-holder. We do not claim ownership of any audio that flows through the Service, and we do not grant you any license to use it beyond what is permitted by the original rights-holder and applicable law.

6. Privacy & data

We do not require an account. We use your IP address only to enforce the 5/day quota on the web downloader, and we do not sell or share it. The Chrome extensions perform the heavy work on your machine and do not phone home for quota tracking.

We do not store the audio you download. The audio is processed and streamed to you, then discarded. We do not keep a list of the URLs you submit beyond what is required to handle abuse and enforce the quota.

7. Daily quota

The web downloader is limited to 5 successful downloads per IP per day, resetting at midnight UTC. The quota is designed to keep the shared backend responsive for everyone. Installing a Chrome extension removes the cap entirely.

We may change the quota at any time. We may also rate-limit abusive IPs. If you believe you have been rate-limited in error, contact us.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant the quality, accuracy, or legality of any audio obtained through the Service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall audiodownloader.com, its operators, or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, resulting from (a) your use of the Service; (b) any content obtained through the Service; or (c) any unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless audiodownloader.com, its operators, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

11. Takedown / DMCA

If you are a rights-holder and believe that the Service is being used to access content you control in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send a takedown notice to support@audiodownloader.com with the subject starting with DMCA. Include:

  • Your name and how you are authorized to act.
  • The URL(s) of the content to be removed.
  • A short statement of the rights claim.
  • A physical or electronic signature.

We action takedown notices within 24 hours.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users of the Service, us, or third parties.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Effective" date. Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in our place of business.
